Braid Camp
AKACHI Braids Artistry Summer Braid Camp presents an exciting opportunity to empower your girls, aged 9-18, with hair braiding skills this summer! They will also gain valuable insights into entrepreneurship, learn to care for their natural hair, and form lifelong networks with like-minded girls!!
Their instructor, Miss Faith, is a seasoned hair braider who has perfected the art of teaching braiding. With over 10 years of experience, she is passionate about imparting her knowledge to young girls.

Highlights
Your girls will walk away being able:
- Neatly part and execute cornrow, single braid, and twist techniques, including accessorizing and adding extensions.
- Properly care for their natural hair with protective hairstyles, demonstrating at least two different techniques.
- Apply learned teamwork skills in other settings, successfully collaborating on at least two group activities during the camp.
- Hone their discovered creativity in hair braiding, creating and presenting a final project.
- Apply learned skills towards planning their own business, developing a plan or vision by the end of the camp.
- Utilize their new network of like-minded girls to improve their skills by setting at least one goal for future collaboration.

DAY #1- GOOD FOUNDATION & FIRST SKILL! Get to know your instructor, classmates and learn your first new skill!
- Learn the appropriate use of every hair braiding tool and accessory provided

- Learn to create perfect and neat box/knotless braids and twists!
- Have fun practicing routines to care for your hands and body as a skilled worker

- Learn how to part the front, middle, and back of the head for even-sized cornrows/feed-in braids every time!
- Have lunch over a fun activity exploring the history and uses of cornrows around the world
- Revise the values that make good skilled women, more entrepreneurship & hair care nuggets

- Show off your new confidence and creativity in braiding by choosing and working on your final project (with help and guidance of course!)

- What foods will be provided for lunch and snacks?
Delicious and satisfying meals including sandwiches, pizzas, chicken/turkey wraps, fruit, yogurt, crackers/chips, water, and drinks. Please specify any food allergies when filling out the registration form.
- What is your refund policy?
All payments are non-refundable. In the UNLIKELY event that we would be forced to professionally cancel, all payments will be refunded.
- Will the kit be my child’s personal property?
- Can I convert my child from the one-day camp to the full-access camp after camp has begun?
